Pearl Izumi Pro Barrier Lite Jacket

Smaller than a can of your favorite cold brew.  That’s how small the Pearl Izumi PRO Barrier Lite Jacket packs down.  If that isn’t awesome enough it’s super light weight, DWR coated and features ripstop for durability. This jacket is the perfect stow away for when the weather rolls in. 

Who’s this item for: Riders who are after a pack-light, compact, jacket that they can easily carry with them on a ride in case the weather changes.  This is a great winter jacket option as you can use it until the sun warms things up then stash it in a pocket. 

Element Resistance: Wind and water.

Fit Type: Pearl Izumi calls the fit ‘Form Fit’ which is supposed to be snug to the body.

Materials: The jacket’s body is made from 100% polyester while the remainder of the jacket is 88% polyester, 12% elastane.  New softshell lite panels have been used for improved fit and stretch.  These panels offer optimal wind and water protection.  Access to the jacket is via a full-length, two way zipper.  When zipped up to the tall collar the zipper tucks into a ‘zipper-garage’ to ensure you don’t feel it.  An elastic waistband helps hold the jacket in place keeping the heat in.

Pockets Position and Quantity: There is one rear zipper pocket for storage.  This pocket is also used to stow the jacket when you aren’t wearing it.

Hood: No hood here.

Pros: Good wind and water protection.  Super lightweight and packable.  Zippered rear storage pocket which doubles as a self-stuff pocket for the jacket. 

Cons: Front zippered hand pockets wouldn’t hurt.
