Most straight gauge (championship level) spokes are 13g (2.3mm) at the head, then 13g (2.3mm) all the way toĀ the thread. (Often referred to as a “standard” 13g spoke)
TheĀ PSR+ 13g StandardĀ has all those standard features but improves things by adding a very shortĀ 2.5mmĀ butted section at the spoke head to strengthen it at this high load area.
In both real-world and laboratory testing, this has proven to strengthen the spoke at this crucial point by 4 times over a regular (non PSR+) spoke.
